Dominic Carter (Chair)
Dominic’s career started and looks set to remain in the field of people and organizational development. Specialising in coaching and mentoring after a successful career in HR, he was trained as a coach by James Flaherty of New Ventures West in San Francisco and was awarded the Advanced Diploma in Professional Coaching and Mentoring by the Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring/Oxford Brookes University.
In-house roles in broadcasting, IT and telecoms led to him leading HR in the start-up of an ITV company (Westcountry Television) and the acquisition of a $7 billion IT business in North America (Newbridge Networks). His last generalist role was as HR Director of a global telecoms business (part of the Alcatel group) as it launched broadband internet access and secured a 50% share of the world market for ADSL equipment.
Narrowing his focus, Dominic ran Alcatel’s talent management and leadership development functions across northern Europe from 2001-2004. In this role he combined strategy and needs analysis with the design and commissioning of development processes/programmes and delivery of coaching, mentoring and facilitation.
Since 2005, Dominic has worked independently, providing coaching to executives and management teams, and advising organizations on their people development practices. His client experience spans IT, telecoms, broadcasting, professional services, manufacturing, food & drink, health, leisure, film production and the arts.
