Nigel Houghton

For 25 years, Nigel Houghton has assisted organisations to communicate with their employees. He has helped them develop communications strategies, design implementation plans and the methods for delivery. The organisations he works with are as diverse as GEC and Boots, Rolls-Royce and Unilever, Taylor Woodrow and the Metropolitan Police. The recent development of positive psychology has helped explain why conventional employee communications regularly fails to deliver committed employees. Nigel runs employee communications consultancy Oriel, which is now offering clients an approach to communication that focuses on meaningfulness rather than information. He has experience of doing business in China, Japan, and the USA. He has designed and edited a book on how to do business in China and has begun to develop links with CGA - a business and strategic consultancy in the People’s Republic of China - on behalf of CAPP. Nigel has won numerous awards for his communications work.
