Building strengths-based schools and children's services
A strengths-based school is an organisation that fosters a love of learning and
which allows adults, children and young people to reach their potential and to
be 'people at their best'.
CAPP offers a unique series of training days, courses and discussion groups for
teachers and other professionals working with children and young people.
Schools and childrens services have many strengths and strive to be positive.
CAPP's programmes aim to identify and build on these existing strengths and use
the latest findings from positive psychology to help schools and other
professionals become even more effective.
All of our work is under pinned by academic research and presented in a
practical and useable format.
The tools that CAPP has developed are designed for use by different groups and
in different settings. They have been used effectively by head teachers and
teachers for their own professional development, by professionals working with
parents, by parents themselves and by children in the classroom. They can be
used for personal development, for coaching and for group work.
